Catherine Stratton, MPH

My name is Catherine Stratton, and I am a Member of the Board of Directors of the Moyamoya Foundation. My motivation for joining the Moyamoya Foundation is to help serve this community and particularly represent Moyamoya patients through my membership. Outside the Foundation, I am currently working as a cardiology clinical researcher in the area of clinical trials and implementation science. I have also co-founded an organization that advocates for equity for disabled and chronically ill individuals. In May 2020, I graduated with my Master in Public Health, specializing in Chronic Disease Epidemiology.  Why I joined the MMFC:  I have been a Moyamoya patient since I was 10 years old and was very glad when I learned about the Foundation since I could connect with community members through joining as well as serve the community by participating in the Foundation’s work. Another important reason for my joining the Foundation was wanting to amplify patient voices, particularly those who are pediatric stroke survivors. I believe that through lived experience, we can inform research and advocacy priorities.
