Dr. Brian Eichner

Dr. Brian Eichner is an associate professor of pediatrics at Duke Children's, where he started as a resident in 2006 and had stayed since. He enjoys caring for a broad variety of patients in the primary care setting and is the outpatient medical director of the Duke Pediatric Complex Care service and the Duke Children's Diagnostic Clinic. He has research interest in the early detection of autism and advocacy interest in pediatric gun violence prevention. Eichner is a 2023 recipient of the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. The Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, presented by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation, is designed to recognize compassion and sensitivity in the delivery of health care. This award is presented to faculty members who demonstrate outstanding compassion in the delivery of care; respect for patients, their families, and health care colleagues; and demonstrated clinical excellence.
